About Me

¡Hola! My name is Noemi Caraballo and I was born and raised in Puerto Rico.  I’m presently residing in New York City’s vibrant and culturally rich Hispanic neighborhood of El Barrio.

I have a business degree from Audrey Cohen College and over 30 years of experience working on that field. Additionally, I hold diplomas and certificates in a variety of fields such as health care, special needs children care, diverse administrative support training, telecommunications, and cosmetology.  Presently, I am pursuing a professional degree in Studio Arts which will culminate in a Masters of Fine Arts.

I am also a proud mother of two amazing sons and "Nana" to two beautiful, smart and loving grandchildren.

I am very proud of my roots and my artistic work reflects that.  I draw inspiration from the many resources my island has to offer, particularly, its endemic species of both flora and fauna.  Also from customs rooted in its indigenous folklore, and the island's paradisiacal land and seascapes.

My work is executed on a variety of mediums and materials such as stretched canvases, paper, acetate, etc.  Paintings are mainly on acrylic and oil paints; drawings are rendered with traditional mediums, i.e. pencil, charcoal, pastels, etc.

My style is representational and realistic in nature with an eclectic and modern approach to please art lovers of multiple generations. It carries a message for preservation of both natural resources and cultural identity with a touch of nostalgia.
